I am an entomologist with the USDA Forest Service, where I provide assistance with forest insect related issues. My training blends aspects of forest entomology, evolutionary biology, and genomics, and my research aims to understand the genetic and genomic changes that give rise to adaptation and the evolution of new species. Much of my research has focused on the diversification of bark beetles and their symbiotic fungi, although I have more recently been exploring speciation genomics and genome evolution in non-model fruit flies.
